Glass lining equipment is widely used in chemical production. The glass-lined glaze layer attached to the surface of the iron tire is smooth and clean, extremely resistant to abrasion, and its corrosion resistance to a variety of inorganic organic materials is incomparable to that of stainless steel and engineering plastics. It not only has the mechanical strength of general metal equipment, but also has the characteristics that they do not have: preventing material deterioration and discoloration, eliminating metal ion pollution, and being low in price, convenient and practical. Therefore, glass-lined equipment is pharmaceutical, dyes, food processing and other fine chemical industry equipment.
Because the glass lining is a kind of brittle material, the harsh working conditions (abrasion and corrosion) do not allow the existence of any tiny cracks, so in the transportation, installation and use of the equipment, such as the operation process requires special care, but also pay attention to maintenance, to ensure the use of equipment performance.
Even so, damage to glass-lined equipment persists for the following reasons:
1. Improper transportation and installation methods;
2. Metal, stone and other hard objects entrained in the material collide with the vessel wall;
3. The temperature difference between cold and heat shock is too large to exceed the specified requirements;
4. Strong acid and strong alkali materials corrode under high temperature and high concentration conditions;
5. Overload use under abrasive and corrosive conditions.
In addition, there are factors such as improper methods of removing foreign matter and poor quality of the glass-lined glaze layer. Through visits to enterprises using glass-lined equipment, it was learned that small accessories such as stirring and valve fittings were found to be damaged and replaced. For large equipment such as reaction kettle, tower section, storage tank, etc., if damage is found, it has to be disassembled and transported to its manufacturer to rebuild the glass-lined glaze layer. Both of these methods have serious waste and affect the production. Especially in today's equipment substantial price increases (such as K1000L reactor is 4 times the price in 1988).
